Today Die Hard<\/a> actor Bruce Willis<\/a> turned 70, two years after it was announced the Hollywood actor had been diagnosed with dementia<\/a>. <\/p>\n

His daughter Tallulah<\/a> took to social media<\/a> to wish her ‘favourite friend’ a happy 70th. <\/p>\n

‘You are a light that can never be dimmed! I love you so proud to be your baby, she said. <\/p>\n

In an Instagram<\/a> Q and A yesterday, Bruce’s daughter Rumer gave an update on her dad<\/a>. <\/p>\n

‘He’s doing great, thank you for asking,’ Rumer responded in a video. ‘It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow so please wish my papa a big happy birthday,’ she added.<\/p>\n

In February 2023, the Willis family announced Bruce had finally been given a ‘clear diagnosis’ of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a progressive disease that impacts his speech and behaviour. <\/p>\n

The year previously, the family said Bruce – famed for his roles in The Sixth Sense and Pulp Fiction – was retiring from acting after an aphasia diagnosis. <\/p>\n

Aphasia is a condition that impairs language, and the family later discovered this was a feature of frontotemporal dementia, which ‘chips away’ at his cognitive function each day. <\/p>\n

While in its early stages Alzeimer’s dementia shows up as memory loss, Bruce’s family noticed a change in his speech. <\/p>\n

In a 2024 interview with Town & Country<\/a> his wife Emma Heming Willis explained<\/a> how they first noticed something was wrong. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard for me to say, \u2018This is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over,\u2019\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Bruce Willis’ life like now?<\/h2>\n<p>Bruce has a huge support network with his blended family sticking together through tough times, and his doting wife Emma, 46, giving occasional updates on the Hollywood legend’s health.<\/p>\n<p>Emma and Bruce, who married in 2009, share two young daughters – Evelyn, 10, and 12-year-old Mabel.<\/p>\n<p>From his 13-year marriage to Demi Moore, Bruce also has three I show up because that\u2019s what you do for the people you love.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The actress shared that she visits Bruce weekly, and wants to support his current wife Emma and their young daughters. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I hope it\u2019s encouraging for others to see that there\u2019s a different way to do things,\u2019 she told <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/awards\/demi-moore-substance-first-oscar-nom-family-bruce-willis-1236298353\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Variety<\/a>. \u2018There is life after <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/divorce\/\">divorce<\/a>. Emma said it was ‘hard to know’ if Bruce was aware of what’s going on with his health. <\/p>\n<p>This time last year, Emma <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/03\/04\/bruce-willis-wife-hits-back-claims-actor-no-joy-life-20392625\/\">hit back at claims <\/a>her husband had ‘no more joy’ left after his diagnosis. <\/p>\n<p>She said: \u2018There is grief and sadness, there\u2019s all of that. But you start a new chapter, and that chapter is filled with love, it\u2019s filled with connection, it\u2019s filled with joy and happiness.
