href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/race-across-the-world\/\">Race Across The World<\/a> stars Gaz and Yin got emotional this morning as they opened up about their <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/divorce\/\">divorce<\/a> while on Lorraine. <\/p>\n<p>The former married couple are <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/23\/everything-know-race-across-world-2025-including-cast-route-22960453\/\">one of five pairs taking part<\/a> in this year’s <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bbc-2\/\">BBC<\/a> competition, travelling 14,000km from the Great Wall of <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/china\/\">China<\/a> to Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.<\/p>\n<p>Though they’ve been separated for three years, the pair are taking on the emotional adventure as ‘best friends’.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of tonight’s third episode, Yin and Gaz appeared on the morning show to discuss their ‘wild’ journey.<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Ranvir Singh – who is stepping in for usual host Lorraine Kelly as she undergoes – about their marriage breakdown, Gaz began by saying it was ‘hard’.<\/p>\n<p>‘Like all break-ups, it was hard, and because I’m of that age generation, I I don’t think I’d be here if it wasn’t for you. It wasn’t that bad, but it got to the point where I didn’t like myself. I took Yin for granted. Their dynamic is fascinating to me.’<\/p>\n<p>‘An ex-wife who didn’t give up on her ex-husband. And then when we split up, I found another partner, but he passed away suddenly in September.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The last year has been tough, but one of the things that Chris gave me was a real sense of adventure, and he really liked travelling. <\/p>\n<p>‘We talked a lot about travelling, and so when this came along, I thought why not, something inside me made me fill out the application form.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Yin was living in Gaz\u2019s under-the-stairs cupboard at the time as he was looking after her during her grieving period, and suggested the idea of Race Across The World to him.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"366\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pilotshopworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/SEI_249487641-c8ca.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-23004771\" alt=\"Race Across The World - Yin and Gaz\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Yin and Gaz are parents to 23-year-old Autumn (Picture: BBC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She added: \u2018He was like, yeah, whatever. He probably just said it more to amuse me, because he obviously knew what I was going through at that moment.
