href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/05\/01\/sir-david-attenborough-hailed-a-gift-humanity-days-99th-birthday-23006119\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/05\/01\/sir-david-attenborough-hailed-a-gift-humanity-days-99th-birthday-23006119\/\">showing no signs of slowing down<\/a> with his next movie about to come out.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/30\/sir-david-attenborough-98-addresses-nearing-the-end-life-powerful-new-film-22999934\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/30\/sir-david-attenborough-98-addresses-nearing-the-end-life-powerful-new-film-22999934\/\"> beloved natural history TV presenter <\/a>will return to the screen later this week with his new <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/disney\/\">Disney<\/a>+ feature documentary, Ocean with David Attenborough.<\/p>\n<p>The movie will address his most urgent message about the health of the world’s oceans as he ‘nears the end of his life’, sharing a ‘story of optimism’ about recovering their former glory.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, he <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/04\/04\/david-attenborough-will-restore-hope-planet-emotional-new-trailer-22851744\/\">shared a sneak peek at the feature-length documentary<\/a> with the well-known conservationist saying: \u2018When I first saw the sea as a young boy, it was thought of as a vast wilderness to be tamed and mastered for the benefit of humanity.<\/p>\n<p>‘Now, as I approach the end of my life, we know the opposite is true. noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean with David Attenborough will be <strong>available to stream from Sunday, June 8 for those with a Disney+<\/strong> <strong>subscription<\/strong>, which offers a seven-day free trial and then costs \u00a34.99 per month for a standard plan with ads.<\/p>\n<p>It will also premiere on National Geographic on June 8 at 8pm.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When is Sir David Attenborough’s next TV show coming out?<\/h2>\n<p>And that’s not all, he also has a ‘landmark’ show already on the horizon.<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>his next project<\/strong> is already set to follow hot on its heels with a five-part documentary <strong>coming to the <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/bbc-2\/\">BBC<\/a> this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new nature series, Parenthood, will trace the ‘extraordinary’ lengths different species will go to ensure the survival of their children in the high-stakes wildlife world, per<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tv\/tv-news\/sir-david-attenborough-front-new-35168282\" data-type=\"link\" wildlife filmmakers in the world, and I\u2019m thrilled Sir David is joining us again to narrate it.’<\/p>\n<p>And comes from the creators of shows like Wild Isles, The Hunt and The Mating Game, Silverback Films, who have done a ‘deep dive’ over the course of two and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>Series producer and director, Jeff Wilson, added that the show is ‘the ultimate celebration of the joys and challenges of raising offspring in the natural world.’<\/p>\n<p>He also promised that the ‘landmark series has something for everyone’ including ‘moments of heart-warming tenderness, high stakes href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/tv\/features\/david-attenborough-planet-earth-bbc-b2460839.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/tv\/features\/david-attenborough-planet-earth-bbc-b2460839.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Independent<\/a>: ‘Working with him in his nineties is not that hard, because he can do almost anything.’<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, he even outlined why retirement isn’t on the cards for him if he can help it. <\/p>\n<p>‘I do dread not working, although there are things I can do without running up steps six times – books to be written, things I never got round to,’ he said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Radio Times<\/a>: ‘If I think I\u2019m not producing commentary with any freshness, or which is apposite or to the point, I hope I would be able to recognise it before someone else told me.’<\/p>\n<p>And has <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2017\/10\/23\/david-attenborough-promises-he-will-keep-on-presenting-even-when-hes-100-7019758\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2017\/10\/23\/david-attenborough-promises-he-will-keep-on-presenting-even-when-hes-100-7019758\/\">previously said <\/a>he ‘sees no reason why I can’t live past 100’.<\/p>\n<p>There are hopes he will narrate Blue Planet III, which is tipped to come out in 2026 after his centenary celebrations. <\/p>\n<p>‘As long as David wishes to continue doing narrations, we are of course delighted to have his brilliant contributions,’ a source told i paper about his ongoing contributions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ocean with David Attenborough comes out on May 8 in cinemas. It then airs Sunday 8th June at 8pm on National Geographic and streams the same day on Disney+.
