data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Harry Potter<\/a> franchise, revealed while on <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/the-one-show\/\">The One Show<\/a> that he didn’t really enjoy the role. <\/p>\n<p>It was announced today that <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/12\/11\/hollywood-legend-79-reveals-rejected-offer-play-frasier-crane-22170613\/\">John Lithgow<\/a>\u00a0has revealed he has been cast as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2021\/12\/13\/fantastic-beasts-the-secrets-of-dumbledore-trailer-debuts-mads-mikkelsen-15765344\/\">Albus Dumbledore<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/11\/21\/harry-potter-fans-incredibly-disappointed-hbo-supports-jk-rowling-22036452\/\">the HBO Harry Potter series<\/a>\u00a0after weeks of speculation.<\/p>\n<p>As excitement mounts for the reboot of the franchise, Jason, 61, has admitted that it wasn’t all fun and games on the set of the original film series.<\/p>\n<p>‘It\u2019s a terrible confession to make, they weren\u2019t that much fun to make. It\u2019s quite boring, making big special effects films,’ he told hosts<a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/alex-jones\/\"> Alex Jones<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/roman-kemp\/\">Roman Kemp<\/a> as well as fellow guests <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/diversity\/\">Diversity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jason then quickly added that he still has a lot of love for the franchise and the joy came after the filming.<\/p>\n<p>‘However, the pleasures all come afterwards. I see and meet people for whom their lives were changed by it, and still people are reading it and sharing it with their children. It’s over 100 degrees (45 Celcius). <\/p>\n<p>‘We’re all covered in makeup and there’s lights and you’re there all day. It’s quite gamey is what I’m saying.’<\/p>\n<p>Alex looked slightly horrified at the Harry Potter legend’s description as she and Roman laughed and repeated: ‘Gamey?’<\/p>\n<p>‘Good descriptive,’ she broken.<\/p>\n<p>‘There’s an off-screen White Lotus as much as there’s an on-screen White Lotus, just with hopefully fewer body bags.’ <\/p>\n<p>Jason stars as the patriarch of an incredibly wealthy family, joined on the holiday by stand-offish wife Victoria, played by Parker Posey.<\/p>\n<p>Their children are finance bro Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), shy high schooler Lochlan (Sam Nivola) and
