Eamonn Holmes has revealed he feared the worst after suffering the ‘worst bang’ to his head and shoulder after a fall.
Last week, the former This Morning presenter, 65, revealed on Instagram he had been hospitalised after the agonising accident at home.
On today’s GB News, Eamonn gave further details about the incident and said he feared he was ‘dead’ due to the severity of the fall.
He explained he suffered the ‘sorest and most powerful’ knock to his head that he had ever experienced.
Eamonn said: ‘I was very worried about me. [I] fell on the bathroom floor and once I was down, I couldn’t get up.’
Explaining how the accident happened, he said his ‘feet went up in the air’ as the floor was ‘hard, cold, wet and slippery.’

‘It was the worst bang to my head and shoulder,’ the TV star added.
‘I went down and I said, “I’m dead” I have never had a bang to the head as sore and as powerful as that before. I lay there and I thought, “Where’s the blood?’” There was nothing, no blood, no split, nothing like that.
Eamonn told viewers that he was ‘luckily’ in reach of his mobile phone and called an ambulance, and was later treated in hospital.
On Friday, he posted a picture of himself on social media inside an ambulance and wrote: ‘An unexpected journey this morning.

‘Bit of a fall on the bathroom floor. Gosh, it hurts. Thank you ambulance crew.’
Eamonn shared an update with a selfie from hospital, and said: ‘Not how I wanted to be spending The Holiday weekend …… but life’s not easy these days 😞 . Thanks to everybody who is looking after me.’
His followers sent him messages wishing him a speedy recovery, including Andrea, who said: ‘Oh Eamonn, sending much love.’
Echoing their sentiment, Carol added: ‘Hope you recover quickly.’

Wenmonwe also shared: ‘Take care, Eamonn. Used to love you on GMTV with Fiona. No better duo. Wishing you a Speedy Recovery.’
Eamonn has suffered a number of health problems in recent years.
In 2016, he had a double hip replacement after suffering from pain and mobility issues.
Then, in 2022, after years of chronic back pain, he underwent spinal surgery to treat a slipped disc.
In March, Eamonn spoke frankly about his health, saying on Instagram: ‘Even when the sun shines, there’s pain.’
‘Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life ….. so pray for me, help me or get out of the way Social Media haters.’
